Scuba Picture Uv the Day for 6/13/2002
Two eels |
|
I was lucky enough to get both male and female together. The male had gone back into the den after the female darted out to eat my camera housing. The explanation is that I had my camera lanyard around my wrist and I wanted to get it off and hook it to my BC so I could reach out with my hand. I set the camera down on a rock in front of me and the next thing I knew, the female had darted out of the den, straight for my camera. Part of the plastic on the Canon housing is orange, and the inside of the spiny urchin is also orange. I guess the wolf eel thought, "yum, urchin". It stopped before it bit my housing, but I was surprised to say the least. |
